Lynda will present her integrative approach to incorporating hypnosis into treatment with some patients who experience Chronic Fatigue, particularly as it manifests after Long COVID. Lynda will also briefly refer to her experience with cancer and eating disorder patients.
Emphasizing a person-centered framework, consistent with guidelines from the National Mental Health Commission and the World Health Organization, Lynda draws on her extensive clinical experience to address the physical, emotional, and psychological challenges that illnesses present. Lynda will illustrate how hypnotic techniques and phenomena can be seamlessly incorporated into treatment, enhancing therapeutic relationships and optimizing patient outcomes.
Attendees will have the opportunity to engage with the lived experiences of individuals coping with persistent illness and consider the integration of clinical hypnosis into comprehensive treatment plans. The discussion will be supported by both research and practical case studies, showing how hypnotic interventions can foster resilience, reduce distress, and support long-term well-being. The flexible use of hypnosis—across both acute and chronic conditions—will be explored to demonstrate its potential for expanding the reach of psychotherapy.
- Develop an understanding of how to apply effective hypnotic techniques in addressing the debilitating effects of Chronic Fatigue and Long COVID.
- Gain skills for integrating hypnosis as an adjunct within a person-centered therapeutic approach.
- Collaborate through the sharing of insights from de-identified case studies.
Slides will be shown during the presentation and later placed in the members’ area of the ASH website.
